Welcome to liberal America, where the truth is condemned and facts are ignored so as not to "offend" anyone

I won't shoot non lead bullets no matter what. I'll smuggle lead rounds into the woods if I have too.

I'll melt the lead out of batteries to make my own lead buck shot if i have to! Fight the power! Feed the Demons!

They said Asbestos, Cigaretts and X-rays were safe.  We now know better.  Having worked in the abatement industry and seen the medical testing and record keeping for people removing lead paint and deposites I'm leary of scattering lead around the landscape.

I've had to use leadfree shotgun ammo for waterfowl since the 70's and have had no problems with it and use it for all my upland hunting just so I can pot that mallard that flushes off a creek while pheasant hunting and it works just fine for me.  For my vintage guns I use soft non-toxics and will be loading ITX shot this season.

Just started using Lead free bullets in my rifles VG's and BT's in my coyote rifles and X bullets in my bigger rifles, they are working just fine.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Lead concentrated in water fowling areas is being consumed by swans and eagles was the main reason for the ban. Aside from shooting ranges i cannot see how rifle bullets could would concentrate in the same way or have the same effect as it does in certain waterfowl areas... Lets remember that lead occurs naturally and moves in stream and creek beds much like silver and gold.  :twocents:

Good luck with that.  My Dad and I have several hundred pounds of good lead stored away for making jig heads.  Dad and I did a demo on an old house and there were lead sheets lining some of the walls.  We took it all and melted it into ingots.  There are all kinds of good uses for lead.

There are more significant problems to deal with in the water and soil than lead.

How about a hiker filling up his plastic bottle with water contaminated with naturally occuring arsenic?  I recall some story that communities on the west slopes of the Cascades have a higher than average amount of arsenic in the tap water.  Who knows what's in the untested springs?  Oregon has a lot of naturally occuring mercury.

Worry worry.  There's a lot of people that drank untested water all their life and still reached age 100.  If you see a baby eating a paint chip, get your finger in there and fish it out.  Maybe give her some applesauce, she's hungry.

The goal is to make ammo cost prohibative, that way you never have too much nor can you afford to buy a lot. The amount of lead hunters after big game put into the environment is miniscule at best. Why not go after illegal immigrants that turn any forest service road and large areas of forest into their dumping grounds. I know of places where there are hundreds of acres turned into garbage dumps, that is where real environmental damage is done. There needs to be a greater sense of stewardship, and conservationism in this state. Banning lead bullets will not protect the environment. Go after the real poluters, people who dump illegaly, people that steal timber products, people that cook meth. If elected one of my first environmental concerns will be to preserve our wild places and to stop the damage done by dumpers. We need clean forests and rivers, we dont need to create new laws to do it, just enforce already existing laws..of course this means we need more state rangers.
You don't need a flatter shooting rifle or a larger caliber. What you need is good field marksmanship. Jeff Cooper.

Meth cook shops are more toxic to EVERYTHING than lead.  :twocents:
